Success. One day at a time
Hey friends,
I have been pondering about this for quite a while and just thought that I write this down to remind myself and at the same time; to share with you guys.
Can you recall an instance that you mentioned something like "I am going to acheive something when I am 28 yrs old'?
There are many instances that we think of the big picture and plan ahead for the future; which is very important. However, we always fail to micro manage by looking at the day to day events that will lead up to the completion or fulfillment of the goal that we have set.
As such, we always find ourselves falling short of the so called goal that we have set for our own lives in all aspects.
Besides quantifying the way we measure success, we must also set short term milestones for our long term goal planning.
For example:
If Alan plans to save up $12,000 in a year, than he must ensure that he is able to save $1000 per month. By identifying the amount that he has to save per month, he will have to identify the different channels in which he can generate the specified amount.
As Alan breaks down the seemingly impossible plan of $12K into 12 months, the goal seems so much more possible to acheive isn't it?
In summary, we need to be able to micro manage and macro manage our own lives effectively on a day to day basis.
Time to plan for 2007!
