Ending 2006
Hey friends,
time really flies isn't it? With a blink of an eye or for those who have shortsightness; it could be many many blinks, we are approaching the end of 2006 and within 2 weeks, its going to be 2007! Gosh! Hope your 2006 has been a truly fruitful one!For me, I have been doing quite a fair bit of reflecting and planning in the past 2 weeks, evaluating my career goals, personal life management as well as planning for the foreseable future. The truth is; for those of you who know me, you will know that I am not really into planning especially detail planning for the future. However, I realised that I am beginning to seriously plan for the future by mapping down my plans. Guess I have matured? Haha..definetely its not by accident but through some fruitful conversations that I had with my colleagues.
I realised that when you communicate with people, you will unknowingly absorb what the other person is trying to put forth to you; together with his/her attitude and general lifestyle (eg financial habits, emotional handling etc). I believe that because we are primarily spiritual beings; and thats explains why we are influenced or to influence via our conversations with the people around us. In other words, a person has to be really careful with the people that he/she decides to admit into the inner circle of friends that they choose to confide in and share their problems with. Reason being; there is no point sharing your problem with someone whom you know is unable to solve their problems and do not have the capacity to absorb your problems.
Moving along, when I looked back on 2006, I realised that every step I take, it requires an amount of faith of trust in Him that He is able to provide and He will provide. Ever since I started working in my 1st job till present, there was never a time that I could be fully independent of God. There would always be trials, uncertainty, issues larger than myself but everytime when I cry out to Him, He never fails to bring me out of the rut and in the process, overcoming the problem!
God has shown and proven to me that if we are willing to trust Him through the trying journey, the end result would always be one that glorifies His name. However, if we try to do things our way, then of course, we will bear the consequences. There is a statement by Sun that really left an impression in my heart:
"When something is in the impossible realm, we can pray for God to provide, but when something is in the realm of possibility, God expects us to work hard and fight for it!"
So, in 2007, there will be a list of goals that I would want to pursue and make it happen.
Next week is going to be really special; I hope. Will keep praying that the event will truly come to past and if it does, it will be a confirmation that more positive developments would happen in 2007.
Can't wait for Feb 2007!
MERRY XMAS TO ALL! Don't forget the TRUE MEANING OF xmas!
