The Forbidden City
I went to catch the much lauded theatre production "The Forbidden City" last night after work and all I could say is that its awesome! From the theatrics of the dramatise to the intelligent usage of the limited stage space and a single metal structure to form the boundaries of the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Chamber rooms and the city walls as well as the lighting effects to illustrate various stage effects, it has certaintly taken me by awe. Maybe this was my debut viewing of a production and thus I could have over-rated the production. haha!
However, by all means the cast including Kit Chan was wonderfully cohesive in their speech dialogues, connecting emotionally with the audience and not to mention their voice projection while singing. Now I understand why people say Kit Chan is still one of the best local singers around despite the emergence of other cutey pop idols in the past 3 yrs or so. Simply breath-taking!
The entire performance lasted about 2.5 hours inclusive of an half hour intermission in which i mistook as the end of the production and was about to leave (can you imagine that?) hahaha!until my friend alex reminded me that its the intermission period!..anyway I am going to get the soundtrack cd for this musical production and relive the experience again (at home thou).
Got home about 12 midnight after having my dinner cum supper at a kopitiam near my place..went online and chatted with a few friends including her. Truly being able to manage your expectations are so important because when you are able to manage your expectation, you wouldn't be too taken aback when things are not going your way. However, we had a good chat last night and at least communication is still flowing in this friendship. Really want to thank Him for all this blessings because without His presence and hand upon this friendship, I think it would be impossible for us to maintain it without meeting or talking to each other for about 3 weeks.
The essential thing is that I know the reason of us not being able to meet or talk. :)
