Decipher Security
Whenever I read my friend's blog and how she and her boyfriend would always do great exploits for God; serving God together and growing together in the Lord; it never fails to encourage me that one day I would be like her; entering into a relationship with my future dear; one that is going to bless the both of us and we would also be able to help each other grow more in the Lord together. Although currently at times, I will still get hit by bouts of loneliness and feel bad about myself, I know that God has a plan for my life; and as the Bible says "His thoughts towards us are always good!".
You know something; last night when i was walking home after attending a wake, I was just pondering on the thought of being secure with just yourself and God. What it really meant by that and how a person can actually work towards that aim of really BEING SECURE with nothing else but God alone. I concluded that it requires:
1) The person has to be very focused on everything that he/she do in their lives. Without the focus, its just like taking your hands off the steering wheel when you drive a car; and you know what will happen next. I need to be more secure in my faith, personal convictions, character, life in general and my emotions. And most importantly, I NEED TO BE tapping into the presence of God every single day of my life to gain new dreams, visions from My Heavenly Father.
2) The person has to have new dreams and visions coming in on a constant basis to pursue in his/her life; not just material desires or aspirations, but having THAT dream that requires him/her to do something that they have not done before. To step out in faith and trust in the vision that is given by Him and Him alone they shall serve. So many a times, we see people out there; or even people we know; their lives start to decline once they are married, have 2 kids, a car and a 4 room HDB flat. Is that all LIFE has to offer? No my friends, you and I have to enlarge our spiritual capacity (the desire to serve, guide, lead and minister) every single day; putting aside all distractions (career, friends, gf/bf, material needs) to come before Him; offering yourself as the living sacrifice to serve His purpose.
3) The person needs to surround himself/herself with very strong positive friends. Your choice of friends and company you keep is so very important. God gave us the free will to choose who you want to be with; who is that first person that comes to your mind when you want to watch a movie? have dinner together? go for a drive together? Would that person be able to help you NOT JUST TO GROW AS A CHRISTIAN, but to mature and grow in all aspects of your life.
I am writing this because I want this blog entry to always remind myself.
of
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING SECURE WITH GOD ALONE
To be honest with you, I can't wait to serve God in an even greater capacity; rise up as a BV, Choir Helper, get attached, advanced in my career and get my family saved.
I SHALL NOT be like the children of Israel who longed to go back to the sufferings of Egypt; after they were stranded in the wilderness.
I SHALL LOOK forward to the PROMISED LAND; the land filled with milk + honey.
A big shout out to all my close friends; THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR BEING MY DEAR FRIEND.
