Transition
Yesterday was the first time that i shared with my grandma about church and it all came about when i made a decision to tell her and reassure her that both my friends and i have been praying for her health to be good and stable; even in the midst of uncertainty. At first, as i was walking home from the bus stop along upper serangoon road, was talking to my cgl on the phone and she was just praying with me for my grandma's recovery and sharing with me ways to reassure my grandma and how to convey messages in hokkien to her. haha! so after i put down the phone, i made a decision there and then that i am not going to waste this opportunity to share the gospel with my grandma. :)
15 mins passed...
I reached home, changed and sat down in the hall where my grandma was and decided to start a conversation with her in which i asked her what did the doc say about her condition? She replied and said that nothing is known yet and tommorow she has to go back for a medical review and checkup. I then shared with her and told her that my church friends are praying for her and reassured her that everything is going to be fine and great. Upon hearing that, she nodded her head and agreed with me. Following that, she started to share with me about how she used to wake up at 5am last time when she was still staying in a kampong and walk to a cathedral along punggol road to pray for my dad's o and a level exams; although she is a buddhist!. Praise God! Wow! At that point of time, I just felt led by the Holy Spirit to continue sharing with her the various activities that my church is currently doing for the eldery such as visitations and busing them down to church every sun evening!
After hearing this, she said that its good to constantly meet old people as they really need a lot of care, concern and attention at this age of their lives and said "hao xin you hao bao"..haha! So she continued to share with me that she believes that Jesus and Mary are real because after praying for my dad's exams, he always did well and passed with flying colours! Wow wow! But because she is already a buddhist, she cannot convert to another religion (i would have to keep praying for this stronghold to be broken in my grandma's live!).
However its still a very fruitful conversation with her and we ended off well as i once again reassured her that everything is going to be alright. :)
You see, all these would not be possible if i am not willing to slow down in my mind and listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit as i was walking home. If i am not willing to step out in faith to share with my grandma, all these would not have happened.
Many times, God is just waiting for us to take a step of faith to trust Him in our lives.
