My revelations this week.
Many things are by products of success; and they should not be taken as the final destination.
Last night's Business Breakthru Dinner was awesome. Simply mind stretching and capacity increasing seminar. Pst Phil shared about how the church should be the leader of the society, shining and bringing forth the light and glory of God into the world, than to be a sick and weak organisation. He also shared practical ways that we can increase in success, stature and wealth and yet be godly, humble and having a contrite spirit. Personally i was impacted; not just because this was my first time attending BBG, but such a simple and short message stretched my spiritual mind tremendously and I would like to thank God for bringing me there in the first place.
Motivational speakers are aplently but impactful, live-changing speakers are far and few between.
After i left the place, i felt strongly encouraged and 'pushed' to bless my parents with gifts for my dad's bday as well as the upcoming mother's day. Thus today i went with my friend to orchard and i got my dad a parker pen and my mum an elizabeth arden's fragrance. Oh pls do not get me wrong, i am not showing off or anything but just want to share with you the importance of blessing and honouring our parents in our lives.
If you love your parents, HONOUR them. :)
As i attended the BBG, i felt that i was not doing enough in school now to develop as a professional in my field and industry. There is so much more that i could do to impact the world and people around me. And when i am successful in doing all these, then many material things such as bigger pay check, car, house and abudance of finances will follow me wherever i go. Wishful thinking? of course not, this is what the bible says. As my soul prosper, my life will prosper too!
Thus, this brings me to my revelation of the week and i realised that many people live their lives for a car, a condo unit, a house, a wife or family or business or job. At the end of the day, their happiness is not eternal or lasting but only temporal.
