The Future
As the title suggests; this entry is about what I would percieve and see my future as at this current moment. No doubt it might change as time passes, as it had been proven, my thinking when I was 19 yrs old and now at 23 yrs old is already so drastically different. However, the Bible says clearly that our power of visualisation is very powerful and important. Thus, I have decided to write down in words, how I would think my future would unfold to be.
2006
If God's willing, I will enter into NIE and embark on a totally different journey and career path, one of which I've never thought before until this year when I started to teach in my current school as an IT educator. Nonetheless, when was the last time God did something that you've expected and predicted so accurately in your life?..haha.."His ways are higher than ours, His thoughts are higher than our thoughts".
This single decision will no doubt affect and influence my subsequent decisions for the coming 4-5 years of my life because of the bond that comes with it. However, all I want is to walk in His will for my life.
If not, I would continue to excel and work in my current school, to move beyond just having a job but into positions of influence and authority, as what Bro John Avanzini had preached last week during service. At the same time, I would want to improve my teaching and delivery methods so that my students would be able to learn and absorb better during my lessons.
2006 would be a tremendously busy year for me as the Scheme of Work has already been more or less decided and discussed a few weeks ago, and this would be in turn mean more opportunities to shine for God in everything that I do!
2007 - 2008
The plans for this 2 years would have to depend on whichever outcome I choose in 2006. Details would be put in place as soon as I know where and when to make my next career move.
2009
No doubt this is the year that I will be looking forward to. Because I am planning to settle down and get married by the age of 26 yrs old, which in turn means that its either end 2008 or beginning 2009. Haha! I know this might come as quite a shocker to most of you but certaintly not to my close friends..right?..haha! So, by 2009, these are the things I would need to prepare and start to plan for now already.
1) Purchase HDB Flat and Complete Renovation so it's in 'Ready to move in' condition
2) Bridal Photo Package
3) Honeymoon to ? ( will leave it to my future wife to choose. I am ok so long as she is with me!)
4) Wedding Dinner ( will either be at Fullerton, Ritz or Mandarin Hotel)
5) Car? (After much consideration, this has become an OPTIONAL item)
And of course, find and pray for the special someone to come along the way. If not, there is no need to plan for all of the above mentioned. :)
So much said for the materials and natural aspirations I have for the next few years so lets now touch on the Spirtiual aspects of my future!
2006
1) Continue to serve faithfully in CHC Choir and use the talents and gifts God has given to serve Him and His people!
2) Grow in the Knowledge of His word; more importantly, experiencing His word daily!
3) Undertake more responsibilities in the cellgrp. Be more pro-active!
4) Finish monthly Bible reading program
5) Reach out to at least 2 friends monthly
2007 and beyond
1) Become a Choir I/C and Backup Vocalist in CHC!
Well, after stating all of my aspirations and goals for the next few years of my life, I felt that I have removed a huge burden in my heart as I have finally put to pen what I have been thinking and praying about the past few weeks.
However, having said that, the Bible says that unless God is the primary motivation of our plans, we will all have built in vain! We can plan as much as we want, conceptualise and come up with Plan A, B or C but if its not lifted up to Him, all would be in vain.
Many a times, I often have to question my motivation behind doing things. Is it for me or is it for the glory of God to be manifested and shone throughout all the things that I endaevour and do? Because if your motivation is not right, then your end result cannot be right too!
Above all the plans I have mentioned, we still need to take 1 day at a time, doing what we need to do daily with excellence and winning the battles on a daily basis first before we could say or do greater exploits for Him!
I do not know for sure what the future holds for each of us, but I believe that God is always good, in any circumstances that you might find yourself in. God's goodness is a constant, just like changes we faced in our lives. Therefore, never ever doubt God's ability to provide, to love, to care, to heal whenever you are facing a problem.
For the Bible says "For when we are faithless, He is faithful"
Is it time for you to write down your goals for the future as well?
