Spiritual Warfare
i attended choir practice and this was what Sis Annabel had shared with us:
- Prepare ourselves spiritually as we move over to Sg Expo at the end of the year. The hall is prob a 7000 seater and thus 3 times bigger than our present premise at Jurong West. Thus, the size of spritual warfare that each choir member (regardless of ministry age) would have to fight and engage is at least 3 times more than what we have to deal with now.
- Maintain or if not RAISE our countenance whenever we go up to stage and sing. Never take stage ministry for granted because everytime we are on stage, we are supposed to usher down the presence of God. What good would salt be if it doesn't have taste?
- Always lift up our dissapointments, anger, hurts, burdens, troubles to God as we sing and engage in praise and worship! Transform all the above mentioned into additional energy to praise God!
- Praise and Worship as a form of sacrifice. This was one of the points that hit me real hard on the inside. Why? Everyweek as we go up to sing, sometimes we are happy, sometimes sad. Sometimes things are going really well, sometimes really bad. But we shouldn't let OUR CIRCUMSTANCES dictate what we do and how we react. Instead we should allow God to dictate how we react to each situation.
I've learnt that no matter how well we might be doing in life that week, we must humble ourselves, remove that pride inside of us and come before His very presence to worship. Not the external expression of sobbing and tearing but the internal crying out to Him.
- Carry the Cross with you wherever you go. As choir members, we are not just supposed to Praise and Worship Him only during weekends in services. But wherever we go, whatever situation we might be in, God is ALWAYS and will ALWAYS be good. No matter what you think. Even if your situation is on its way down, have faith because God is always good!
His presence was just so strong last night in main auditorium mainly because the people came with a heart of expectancy, expecting Him to come and dwell with us. From the games at the start to the praying towards the end...as we sing an old worship song "...as we come up to the highest place of praise..."
it was no longer about hype. nostaligia. the past. the present. the ministry.
it is about Him and Him alone i will serve.
Tears kept flowing from my eyes..not because i was sad last night..but i was touched by Him in a way that no word can ever describe.
I wanna carry His presence wherever i go. The rest of my pursuits; i leave it to Him.
God bless.
