7 steps that King Solomon took
Dear friends,
The following is an excerpt from the sermon outline preached on 30 April 2005 by Pst Kong Hee, CHC Singapore.
Step 1: Appointed by God - King Solomon is publicly appointed to the kingship by his father, King David because he constantly seeked and sought after the wisdom of their parents.
Pro 1:1-2 "to know wisdom and instruction and to percieve the words of understanding"
Step 2: Annoited by God - God can't disciple a person who doesn't want to be king
1 King 1:34 ""There let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him king over Israel; and blow the horn, and say "Long live King Solomon"
Step 3: Authority - We're trained to reign!
Step 4: Adherence - King Solomon kept to all the teachings of his father, King David
Pro 1:8 "My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother"
Step 5: Abundance - King Solomon did everything in abundance!
1 Kings 3:4 "Now the king went to Gideon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place; Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar"
1 Kings 8:62-63 "...Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings...22000 bulls, 120,000 sheep.."
Step 6: Asking - King Solomon asked God for wisdom to manage and rule the kingdom!
1 Kings 3:5, 6-7 (Wisdom, above all, is the principal thing!")
God will only appear to people who are trained, discipled and seeks after Him!
Step 7: An Open Heaven
1 Kings 3: 12 "behold, I have done according to your words; see I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you nor shall any be like you arise after"
John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you"
